The Buttery celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions with a photographic exhibition for 2022 National NAIDOC Week.
The Buttery encourages you to – Get up! Stand up! Show Up! – to tell your story and inspire those around you.
NAIDOC Week 2022 will be held from Sunday 3 July to Sunday 10 July. This year’s theme – Get up! Stand up! Show up! – encourages all of us to champion institutional, structural, collaborative, and cooperative change while celebrating those who have already driven and led change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities over generations.
The Buttery is showcasing the invaluable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and men have made to our communities, families, history and nation in an online photographic exhibition.
The photograph exhibition will honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island men and women working in the alcohol and other drugs and mental health sector plus Buttery staff workers, volunteers and those with lived experience.
We would be honoured to share your story and portrait as part of The Buttery’s photographic exhibition. To participate, we require 500 words, along with a photograph, telling us about your contribution to the AOD and Mental Health sector.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YO
1. Provide written responses to the following:
Q: Which city/country are you from? Tell us about your background/family.
Q: What is your professional role in the community?
Q: What does NAIDOC Week mean to you?
Q: This NAIDOC Week, tell us what your message is to Indigenous people to Get up! Stand up! Show Up!?
Try to keep your answers to approximately 250 words per response so we can learn about your experience. It’s OK if some of your answers are longer than this.
2. Provide a photo (head shot) of yourself. Photos should preferably be 1-2 meg.
