Volunteering For The Buttery

Volunteering is also an excellent way to make a contribution to people in your local community by helping people who need a hand.

We advertise our volunteer roles. Drivers who are members of the fellowship who are willing to drive buses from Binna Burra to meetings are very welcome.

When a role comes up, you will be emailed with the details like the examples below and you can decide if it is suitable for you. If you haven’t already filled out the volunteer application form, we will send you a link to an application form to complete.

Police checks and working with children checks are required for most roles.

To fulfil its life-changing mission of helping teenagers and adults who may have mental health or substance misuse issues, The Buttery relies on the generosity of volunteers and student placements. Student placements are limited.

Student Work Placement

Many students contact us who need work placement. We currently support medical students, masters students in social work and psychology and AOD and Mental health students. While we endeavour to support students where possible, places are very limited.

If you would like to be considered for placement later in the year, please complete the Work Placement details on the volunteer application form on this page. We do not have the resources to provide internal clinical supervision, so if you require clinical supervision as part of your placement, this must be sourced externally or provided by your university.

Police checks and working with children checks are required for most roles.
